Coca-Cola's First Sip as a Medicine on 8th May...

A pharmacist and inventor of patent drugs, Dr. John S. Pemberton sold the first Coca-Cola in Jacob's Pharmacy in Atlanta, Georgia on May 8, 1886. ...

John Stith Pemberton (July 8, 1831 - August 16, 1888) was an American pharmacist who is known as the developer and founder of Coca-Cola. He kept the wound during "Battle of Columbus" and soon became addicted to morphine. Therefore, they began experimenting with painkillers to make opium free and came as a substitute with coca wine.

In 1886, he made a non-alcoholic version in his coca wine.

While trying to make another glass of water, they mistakenly mixed the base syrup with carbonated water. It later became popular with the name of "Coca-Cola" and was very famous in those days. He sold it for the first time on 8 May 1886.

The name "Coca-Cola" refers to two main ingredients. Due to controversy over cocaine content, the Coca-Cola Company later said that the name was "meaningless but appreciable".

Pemberton claims that he will treat headache, remove fatigue, and calm nerves, and will market it as "delicious, refreshing, pure pleasure, encouraging" and "encouraging".

After reaching the Coca-Cola market, Pemberton fell ill due to stomach cancer and insolvent. Therefore, they sold their rights to their business partners in their formula in Atlanta.
